Basically I was marked on steam rep for telling a joke on Pink Tacos Unusual Trade Server over 10 years ago, maybe its been 11 years now? I lost count.
The SR tag really affected my ability to trade over all those years, but as you can see by my backpack I pushed through regardless and got to where I am today. Completely unjustifiable mark that was a symptom of power corrupting, where some very powerful people can do what they like without oversight, but now that SR is dead finally the world has opened up for me and I've been getting my marks or bans removed from all these sites that would auto ban me for the tag.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I'm a kid sticky jumping around Pink Tacos Unusual Trade Server just having fun seeing all the cool unusuals, I think it was the 1st or 2nd time I ever joined the server.
Someone over the mic was saying they were gonna do a man co trading (MCT) giveaway of sorts? was like 1 month of free bronze membership, something like that, memory's scratchy from 10 years ago. What exactly that entailed? I have no idea, but I heard it was a giveaway so like sure I wana join a giveaway. I asked over mic ooo how can I join? no answer. then they say again does anyone wana join the giveaway before we announce the winner? i say like twice more yes yes I'd love to join how can i join? then whoever was saying that just ignored me and said ok we are gonna draw a winner, im like oh brother, whatever.
they declare the name of the winner, and then in that moment, im a kid at this time, im like ooo I got an idea for a joke. So I change my name in-server to the winners name, so that the server will update to say "LIKEOMGROFL" changed name to "winners name" etc, then say "oh sweet I won whats my prize". One guy over mic laughed at the joke, another person said lol. then i also remember someone going "..." "really?" and over mic im like sweet guys so what do I win? kindve to troll the guy who was ignoring me u know. then within maybe...20 seconds? as im still sticky jumping I get perma banned from the server. im like woooooow really lol whatever. so i join another sever and play have fun. then my friend caps lock sends me a message on steam like DUDE YOUR MARKED AS A SCAMMER ON STEAM REP! Im like HUH??? no way! I look and there it is "impersonating winner of a giveaway" and that mark has plagued me ever since for over 10 freakin years. I tried appealing but the community MCT shutdown just after, idk exactly when but I couldnt appeal anything anymore. So I got kinda stuck between the cracks if that makes sense. Got called a scammer for never scamming even 1 penny from anyone.
